A Nice French Carnival
People looking to France for a city break this year could do well by heading to Southern France to the Nice Carnival so they may enjoy some unique French entertainment.
In celebration of its 125th year the Nice carnival is getting underway from 13th February and will last until 1st March.
2009’s themed event is for the flamboyant idea of ‘masquerade and concealment’ – it is set to be an artistic event that will wow visitors and leave all carnival goers marvelling at the lavish and fancy masquerade which includes some of the local Italians dressing to fit the event in masks and flamboyant dress.
Many of the world’s leading newspapers have some of their artists providing their skills and tallest at the Nice Festival and the vent is set to see lavish works of art and the cartoon style theme that the organisers are hoping to achieve with the decor and displays it is to feature.
Light parades and flower processions along with huge firework displays and street parties that will continue right up until 1st March 2009!
It will be Nice’s central locations that will be the most popular with tourists as the majority of celebrations will take place here places to visit here to see much of the carnival are the Place Massena and the Promenade des Anglais.
