The European Blind Union has been campaigning for changes in air travel regulations for years and finally, on the 26th July, new European air regulations will be put in place, requiring all European airports to comply.

These regulations are for the benefit of the blind, partially sighted, deaf blind and the blind with additional disabilities.

They include ensuring that all information, such as arrivals and departures, is signed or made available in an accessible format.  Specially trained staff must also be available, trained in guiding a blind person and more.

The European Union has asked that people check these things are in place and notify them if not.

I think it’s about time changes like these happened, why should we keep all the great city breaks to ourselves?
