And now to Tokyo..
Picture Tokyo and I’d bet any amount of money that you picture busy streets and bright lights. But that’s not all there is to Tokyo. Not far from those skyscrapers are long canals and wooden huts.
Here’s a brief overview of Tokyo:
Currency - the Japanese Yen
Language - officialy Japanese although many speak English
Time Difference/GMT - 9 hours ahead of the UK
Flight Time - 11 - 12 hours
Weather - summer is hot and humid, winter is quite mild
Things to do
Eat noodles, try sushi, visit the Imperial Garden Palace, shop til you drop in department stores such as Ginza or local designer shops and chill out in Zen gardens or temples.
Tokyo is a bustling city and the sheer volume of people will overwhelm you when you first arrive, but organise your trip properly and decide what you want to do beforehand and you’ll not only have a great time but you’ll want to visit again and again.
