Australian New Year

All this talk of New Year in the last couple of articles has made me think about my own New Year. I know many Brits like to celebrate New Year in style, and what better way than to escape the miserable British wintry weather and to head to warmer climates.
You cannot get much warmer than Australia and although many think of Sydney when they think of New Year celebrations thanks to the press coverage it always receives, its sister city Brisbane can also hold its own.
They have an amazing fireworks event at 9pm on the 31st December for the whole family but then they have another follow up for the late night partiers at midnight.
For those wanting a little more indoor excitement, they don’t call is Bris Vegas for nothing. There are gambling places and casinos galore, add that to the fantastic weather, and you have a great venue for New Year. It might seem a little strange to spend New Year in the sun, but you can’t knock it til you’ve tried it!
