BA passengers to JFK New York can do customs in Ireland

Next autumn, British Airways (BA) will be offering a new business class only flight from London City airport to John F Kennedy airport in New York, which will stop off for refuelling at Shannon Airport in Ireland.
It is the first transatlantic flight to the US from London City airport and Shannon is the first European airport to be granted pre-clearance so passengers can have their checks before they arrive at their destination.

Many city workers will be able to get from desk to aircraft in as little as 30 minutes at London City. Now it will be more convenient than ever to travel from desk to desk from London City to New York, in unrivalled comfort and style.”
