Bmi Removing Fuel Surcharges
Bmi, London Heathrow’s second largest airline carrier, has announced that it will be removing its fuel surcharges on domestic and European flights.
It says this is in response to the economic situation and their need to provide lower airfares for passengers, however, it seems a shame they weren’t first to announce it as both BA and Virgin have beaten them to it.
Peter Spencer, bmi’s managing director, said: ‘Bmi has always been a market leader in UK and Europe and is committed to providing the best value flights backed up by our renowned friendly service. Our extensive UK domestic and European mainline network links 17 cities and the abolition of fuel surcharges on these short-haul flights [is] designed to help encourage more business and leisure travel.’
Bmi is however a great airline if you’re looking for city breaks as it flies from Heathrow to cities such as Venice, Lyon, Dublin and Amsterdam, although they are yet to remove fuel surcharges from regional flights in the UK and Europe.
