BMI to fly to Kiev
The airline BMI has just received recent approval to launch new flights for holiday makers and travellers flying from London, Heathrow to the capital city of Ukraine, Kiev.
BMI has just confirmed that it is to launch 5 weekly return services saying that flights will deliver ‘a wide range of benefits’ for both business and leisure/holiday travellers alike.
The 5 additional weekly flights from the Heahtrow to Ukraine have been made available after an agreement was come to between the two countries’ governments for allowing more capacity.
After a hearing held by the Civil Aviation Authority it was concluded that the additional services would be operated by BMI rather than BA, who are the existing airline on the route.
CEO Nigel Turner at the BMI Group has stated that bringing new competition onto the route rather than re-allocating extra capacity to BA would lead to many more benefits for customers.
He added: ‘A new competitive service from bmi will not only be a boon for point-to-point travellers between Heathrow and Kiev, but will also provide a wide range of connecting services at Heathrow onto bmi domestic services as well as flights of Star Alliance partner airlines.’
