The Italian city of Bologna may not be one that springs immediately to mind, but it is jam-packed full of entertainment.

Below is a list of celebrations in Bologna, that last from January to November, leaving only December without an official event - except Christmas of course!

From January to June is Teattro Comunale Season with concerts and opera at the city’s theatre

The Carnevale dei Bambini is February to March, a carnival dedicated to children and great for families to enjoy

Bologna Est is the name given to the summer festival of dance, music, theatre and street entertainment and runs from July to September

The annual Children’s Song Festival, to celebrate youthful music is in October and this is followed by La Mostra Belle, the antiques fair.

For a festive city break, no matter what the time of year, why not try Bologna?
