Following a 6 week marketing process for gathering feedback on the developments which are proposed to launch at Bristol airport the project is finally due to launch.

North Somerset Council has received a planning application from Bristol airport which proposes an extension to the current grounds with a list of new services and facilities for the public.

Some of the new plans at Bristol airport include a large extension to the main building, additional car parking spaces and a large number of new aircraft stands which is part of the airport’s demands for supporting 10 million passengers every year.

Robert Sinclair CEO at Bristol Airport said the new plans would help the airport meet passenger demand in South West England.

He added: ‘The new facilities will make the airport better for our passengers, allowing us to improve the service and range of flights available to local business and holiday travellers. It will also help us attract tourists directly into the region, supporting the local economy.’

The airport has considered the developments from an eco friendly angle too and they have proposed the expansion plans with the use of renewable sources e.g. wind power which means that the developments will use 20% less energy than otherwise.
