Bulmers Festival
This September, Dublin will host the Bulmers International Comedy Festival - and I’m gutted because if I’d have known then I’d have moved my August city break to Dublin to September instead!
This is the events fifth year and different parts of it will be hosted in different sections of the capital over its three weeks from 1st - 21st September.
Different comedians have appeared, including Ricky Gervais, Lee Evans, Matt Lucas, David Walliams - and my fave - Bill Bailey!
This year, the festival will feature Chris Rock’s debut on the 4th September. Now this I am not bothered about missing as I heard his debut here was awful with people walking out, etc. I also heard his dismal interview on Radio 1 with Chris Moyles and watched him on Jonathan Ross - although to be fair, that wasn’t too bad. However, I am disappointed overall with Chris Rock - seems to me he hasn’t made much of an effort to cater his comedy to the British audience, and I doubt the Irish will be as forgiving.
Maybe August was a good time to visit after all.
