Chicago City Breaks for Art and History

There are plenty of exhibitions opening in Chicago so the city is looking a good option for those seeking a bit of culture this autumn.

October to April, there will be an exhibition exploring the legend of the Aztecs at the Field Museum of Natural History.  The Aztecs lived for just 200 years and yet developed from nomads to a powerful society.

For art lovers, there is always the exhibition starting on the 20th Sept where they will be celebrating the centenary anniversary of the photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson’s birth.

Then there is also the still running (until the 1st October I believe) Muslim life in America in the 20th century exhibition at the DuSable Museum of African-American History.

Personally, I haven’t yet had the chance to visit Chicago and exhibitions aren’t really my cup of tea but I have been known to drop in on one to wander round as they are usually free entry and nice for a change.
