City Break to Linz
Linz is Austria’s third largest city in the Danube Valley region and despite its size, it attracts fewer tourists than the more famed Vienna or Salzburg.
Linz is famous for several historical figures. Adolf Hitler grew up here, the astronomer Johanne Kepler lived here and it was also home to the famous composer Anton Bruckner.
There are many sightseeing attractions, some of which are listed below:
The baroque Benedictine Abbey that dominates the town
The city’s fountain, showing the five planets known at the time of Johanne Kepler’s death
The steepest mountain railway in Europe
The Schlossmuseum
The small, 8th century Martisnkirche church, the oldest in Austria
The 18th century Postlingberg church, 1,600 feet up a hill
The Holy Trinity column
and many, many more
If you are looking for a city break with a difference, why not try Linz?
