City Breaks Booming
May
8th
European city breaks are booming apparently, according to figures released by the European Cities Marketing association. Not only are they becoming more popular but they are generating some significant income for national tourism. The top city break destinations apparently generated €540m (£426.5m) from tourism in 2006, that’s almost €20m more than 2005.
Where the city is close to the airport, naturally, demand for hotels has also increased, which is great news for us city break travellers. The industry is also set to grow even more because people are changing their habits in travelling, taking more short breaks rather than the traditional two week vacation, and cheaper flights. Let’s go on more city breaks!
