Domestic City Breaks On The Increase
June
17th
It seems that the credit crunch is causing a bit of a boom in the UK tourism market with many Brits choosing to stay in the UK rather than go abroad this year for their city breaks, particularly with everything in the news about flight surcharges at the moment.
Liverpool is particularly popular this year as it’s the Capital of Culture Year 2008. Bookings are up 136%.
Cornwall and Edinburgh are also proving popular. Hotel only bookings are up 40% compared to last year and overall bookings are up 16%.
Hotel bookings for all our seaside resorts are also up, including Brighton, Blackpool, Scarborough and Newquay.
I have never been to Glasgow yet so I think that may be on my list for this year…
