Don’t Flash Your Cash
April
5th
This might sound a fairly obvious tip that everybody should already be aware of, but we all do things on holiday that we wouldn’t do at home or elsewhere.
No matter where you go and no matter how low the crime rate is, the usual pickpockets and thieves prey on unsuspecting tourists, so here are our top do’s and dont’s to stop your holiday or city break being ruined:
Don’t
- Keep anything of value on you that is unnecessary
- Sign all your travellers cheques up front or keep them with your passport
- Leave your bag open or exposed whilst wandering round
Do
- Leave your passport in a safe at your hotel
- Keep a spare credit card in a safe place
- Only take the cash you’ll need for the day
- Take a small, cheap purse/container, place some spare change or small notes in it and keep that in a plastic bag with your snacks, newspapers or comb or whatever. Alternatively, keep it on a long strap round your neck or in a bum bag
This last tip might not sound cool, but the bag won’t look worth taking and will keep your things safe.
