Dubai Hosts Desert Rhythm Festival

I’ve talked quite a lot about Dubai this year, because they’ve had a lot of development announcements and exciting plans for the next couple of years.  It’s a city break I definitely intend to go on next year or in 2010.

I never thought I’d want to go to a music festival there but it’s certainly a unique place to hold one, in the desert!  The Desert Rhythm Festival is on 31st October and lasts for two days.  It seems to have attracted a lot of attention this year, I don’t know whether that is because they have a few famous faces such as Paul Weller this year, because of the diversity of the range of artists and entertainment they have on or simply because Dubai is more high profile this year, but there’s certainly a buzz around it this year even though it is an annual event anyway.

It won’t just be music either, there will be dancing like belly dancing and lots of different ranges of food to try, all sounds good to me!  Maybe I’ll time my city break next year for next year’s music festival.
