Today marks the one week anniversary of the opening of Dubai Mall, a long awaited part of Downtown project in Dubai where soon the world’s tallest building is to open as its centre piece.

The shopping mall is reportedly enormous with more than 600 retail stores, a 22 screen cinema and a giant aquarium with a 270 foot walkthrough tunnel.  It is sure to be on the hit list for most city break lovers next time they pay a visit to Dubai.  There is so much work going on in Dubai this year and next that I can’t wait to see what they’ve done with the place.

The mall’s general manager, Yousif Al Ali, said: ‘The Dubai Mall is a one-of-its-kind experience in the region and marks the future of retail in the region by reinventing the shopping experience for the whole family.  Dubai has already established its place in the world as one of the best business and tourism destinations and the Dubai Mall, as an ambassador for Dubai, will highlight to the world the capabilities and strengths of this city.’
