EBookers.com conducted a survey of British based ebookers newsletter subscribers, almost 25,000 Brits, and found that city breaks are increasing in popularity.

However, the survey also showed that despite this trend growing in popularity, the Brits still love their sun and seaside holidays.

62 per cent of travellers were heading off on sun and sand trips with the most popular holiday destinations being Florida, Spain, Greece, Thailand and California.

This is compared to 38 per cent who were planning city breaks to places such as New York, LA, Paris, Barcelona and Las Vegas.

Now, give me the choice between sitting on a beach all day, getting sunburned, having kids kick sand at me, getting sand on my things and eating hot dogs and ice cream, or the alternative of exploring a new city seeing new sights, eating in new restaurants and meeting new people, guess which I’d choose?
