Euro Disney City Breaks
Euro Disney, the Paris version of Disneyland in Florida recently announced that its net profits were € 1.7 million to the year which ends September 30th in comparison to the € 41.6 million losses it exerperience across the same period the previous year. The popular resort has seen an increase in its resort hotels, theme parks revenues, and average visitors have increased their spending as many of the resorts new rides are starting to attract more British tourists to take a city break to Paris to visit the resort.
Euro Disney’s chief executive, Philippe Gas, said:
‘The popularity of Disneyland Resort Paris, Europe’s number one tourist destination, continued to grow as guests discovered our new attractions including the iconic Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Cars Race Rally, Crush’s Coaster, the interactive experience Stitch Live! and the High School Musical shows inspired by the popular Disney franchise.”
Euro Disney have had increased revenues of 9% to a staggering €715 million and an increased attendance rate of 800,000 visitors bringing the full amount of visitors over the 12 months to 15.3K.
Philippe Gas added: “We reached an important milestone in 2008 by achieving profitability. Our revenues, theme parks attendance and hotel occupancy contributed to our performance which is noteworthy given the economic environment”.
Disneyland breaks have proven even more popular of late due to the high speed rail link provided by Eurostar, many visitors are travelling from St Pancreas, London who are attracted to taking a journey that is only 2 hours and 40 minutes.
