Holiday Bingeing

We Brits are gorging ourselves on holidays, according to market research company Mintel’s recent study.
Their report confirmed what most of us already know, that we no longer want a two week holiday but prefer several short breaks.
The study showed that although city breaks are still popular, there is a tendency to include a short break in the countryside too. In fact, the favourite rural break was the UK, then France, Italy, Scotland and then Spain as the top favourites.
We also prefer to experience authentic local holidays and cuisine, so self catering has risen in popularity. Many Brits no longer dream of owning a holiday home but prefer to rent a holiday home to get more variety in their holidays.
Sounds good to me, so long as I can still enjoy my city breaks!
