There has always seemed to have been an interest in all things Irish in the UK and Ireland is still very popular as a destination for short breaks from the UK.
There’s a huge choice from your Irish break depending upon what you want from it, Dublin is very busy with a vibrancy expected from a capital city, many sites, major clubs and pubs and lots of shops, whereas there is also excitement to be had in Cork and both Dublin and Cork are very popular for stag and hen weekends, sightseeing and culture.
Dublin
The top of the charts with Irish city breaks is Dublin. With winding streets steeped in history and crazy characters, trendy boutiques and malls and street markets it’s a great place to shop. The traditional Dublin pub is worth a visit and a genuine friendly atmosphere is always to be had. Dublin is full of rich heritage, museums and literary memorabilia with contemporary design everywhere to be seen. There are some famous pubs and clubs in Dublin and the famous ‘red square’ is littered with walkways of bars. With a great nightlife and plenty of interesting activities and sights to see in the daytime, Dublin is one of the top UK dating cities. Couples tend to go to Dublin as a cheaper holiday date.
Cork
considering the size of the city, Cork actually offers a huge wealth of amenities and tourist attractions. It is a friendly and compact city with bars, pubs, theatre, live music and traditional Irish culture is everywhere to be found. Other local sights to be seen are a medieval cathedral, castles and a number of Irish grand country houses.
