Keeping in touch abroad
There is no doubt about it; we all love to go on holiday, when we get the time. Mostly it’s down to when we can afford to go rather than when we get the time. So preparing for your holiday you must remember to pack the essentials. Appropriate clothing and footwear, tickets and passports, entertainment, such a magazine, mp3 player, portable games console or laptop and mobile phone.
If taking your mobile phone remember to get your ability to roam (so you can use foreign mobile phone networks) activated. But given the fact that you’ve spent all your money just to get to your destination; do you now want to spend another fortune contacting friends and family while abroad? I can imagine not. The return phone bill will be something to look forward to.
The cost of sending a text message from abroad using your mobile might be the cheapest option. But if you have access to a computer while abroad you may consider using online text messaging facilities. There are some websites that allow you to send a text to a mobile of your choice via there site. Some mobile provider’s website also offer this service providing you use their network and have an account.
Make use of such services while away if they are available to you. It will leave more money for your ice creams on the beach!
