City breaks to Hong Kong are often taken en route to somewhere in Australia or the Pacific region but Hong Kong tourism is hoping to attract more visitors with this summer’s film releases as there are several major films that have been filmed or partially filmed on location in Hong Kong.

The major film everyone is talking about is Batman, with Heath Ledger and Christian Bale as The Joker and Batman respectively.  Batman leapt off the roof of a Hong Kong building in Victoria Harbour and the Peninsula Hotel also featured.

Then of course there’s Kung Fu Panda with Jackie Chan.  Hong Kong’s theme park Ocean Park will be opening a new attraction based on the animated film and is home to four giant pandas.

Looks like Hong Kong is set for a bumper tourism year.
