Navigating Foreign Cities
When holidaying abroad, the hardest part is finding where to go and how to get there. A map is helpful and a phrase book can come in handy, but when push comes to shove, you are in a foreign place with no real knowledge of where you are and what to ask for. It is at this point when you either fall apart and have a horrible time, throw caution to the wind and just explore, or you really wish you had spent that afternoon online sorting things out so you know what is where and how to get to it.
Prior planning really does save time and grief, and it can really make your holiday go with a bang - finding a street map before going there and marking the hotel, bus/train stops, and places of interest on it can really help keep you safe. Getting lost is bad enough, because you can miss out on so much, but bad things can happen to tourists abroad, and it is always better to be safer than sorry.
