Plans have been finalised by EasyJet who have decided, due to demand to launch a series of new flights from London to Austria’s capital Vienna.
The service launched on 2nd April which follows the success of a further connection from Vienna to Luton.
The popular Austrian capital city, Vienna, according to the airline easyJet, has recently seen a huge boost in tourism through a succession of television programmes from Dancing with the Stars and Strictly Come Dancing which has boosted visitors to the European capital of ballroom dancing.
Central city life in Vienna has seen an increasing number of younger holiday makers who come to visit the beaches and enjoy the nightlife.
Paul Simmons, UK general manager of easyJet, said: ‘Vienna has always been known for its historical past, but the city is now enjoying a real renaissance. We are seeing lots more tourists wanting to visit Vienna. Although people still want to see its palaces, art galleries and museums, they now want to experience the romance of dances like the waltz where they originated, in some of the grandest ballrooms in the world.’
New flights are due to launch from EasyJet flying to; Athens, Corfu, Bastia and Dalaman all available from Manchester from summer 2009.
