The Norwegian Cruise operator is now going to monitor the global fuel prices when it comes to assessing whether their original fuel supplement should be reinstated on their prices in the future.
Recent news has also come from the Carnival Corporation who has also decided to suspend their fuel supplements across six of their North American cruise brands which includes: Costa Cruises, Carnival Cruises, Cunard Line, Princess Cruises, Holland America Line and Yachts of Seabourn. Carnival have also announced that a similar policy was in place for refunding customers on their cruises in 2009 and that all their customers who are in the final payment period of their booking will get full refunds of the supplement on all cruise departures that take place after December 17, 2008.
