People still spending on holidays in 2009
Despite the credit crunch a new survey has just revealed that holidaymakers this year are going to be more likely to spend the equivalent if not more on their summer holiday.
YouGov set a recent survey was commissioned by the cruise operator Carnival UK and results showed that 78% of holiday makers between the ages of 45 years and 54 years claimed that they were going to spend the same amount on their holiday this year.
The survey continued to quiz respondents asking what they would consider giving up to fund their summer holiday and the majority of people answered that only saving and buying good food were as important as their annual break.
CEO of Carnival UK, David Dingle, said:
‘The findings from YouGov have confirmed for us that there are still plenty of holidaymakers out there planning a holiday for 2009 despite the current economic situation. Considering a cruise holiday today includes accommodation, almost all food, entertainment and flights, it really does provide exceptional value at a time when the credit crunch is hitting our wallets in every aspect of our daily life.’
At the beginning of December P&O Cruises announced that it was ‘bucking the trend’ which occurred in various other parts of the economy.
