Portuguese Airlines see a growth of one million passengers

TAP Portugal show has recently report over 8.7 million travellers were carried by the airline in 2008 which is a huge increase in business travellers and holiday makers of over 1 million based upon 2007.
This is the biggest overall passenger growth that has ever been reported by the Portuguese airline and the largest increase has been seen on its flight routes to Europe and those flights that service Brazilian routes with passenger figures exceeding 600,000 during 2008.
TAP Portugal’s massive passenger growth is way above the industry average as global air passenger traffic was only reported as increasing in the UK to 2%.
The airline claims: “our recent success was a reward for the efforts made by the company and its employees to correspond to the expectations of our customers.” During December 2008, TAP Portugal also opened its’ new premium lounge at Lisbon airport in Portugal which offers over 500 square metres of additional space for the airlines’ Star Alliance Gold customers and premium passengers.”
The airlines luxury lounge provides first class passengers a range of new facilities including a business and multimedia centre with a restaurant and private showers.
