Sex and the City Increases City Breaks Demand

According to an article on Sky News this weekend, the Sex and the City movie is increasing all-female trips to New York.
According to their source, Travelocity, 50 percent more trips are being made to the Big Apple this year.
With the rise of the pound versus the dollar, Brits can get around two dollars for their pound. This means the average trip to the US has increased from 10 days to 14 days. More and more people are making New York their first port of call but also combining it with other cities in America. In fact, multi-city breaks to the USA have also increased.
Las Vegas is the most popular choice to combine with New York. Other popular combinations are Las Vegas and Los Angeles, or Las Vegas and San Francisco.
I don’t know about Sex and the City contributing to it, but certainly the current exchange rate means it’s a great idea. After what we reported yesterday about the increase in flight prices, I think we should all go whilst we can!
