Singapore is committing itself to the cruise industry
STB, the Singapore Tourism Board has stated that they are totally committed to constructing the implantation of an international cruise terminal within the south East Asian state.
The plans for Singapore Tourist Board’s new international cruise terminal in Singapore are to be unveiled within the Seatrade Cruise Shipping Convention currently taking place in Miami.
The Singapore Tourist Board’s destination cruise and marketing director Chew Tiong Heng, stated that the terminal is to have a nautical theme which is to provide a ‘natural complement’ for its setting and functioning.
He further went on to say:
‘We believe that the terminal’s roof top depicting a modern interpretation of low rolling waves will provide a very welcoming sight to passengers as their cruise ship sails into Singapore. Plans for the new hub follow the announcement last year that a new international cruise terminal will be built at Marina South in Singapore, doubling its current cruise handling capacity.”
The Singapore Tourist Board also just recently made an announcement regarding the final completion of their redevelopment project which has been undergone at Orchard Road which is only a segment of their much major scheme for urban renewal within Singapore.
