Star Wars visits Madrid
When it comes to Star Wars and sci-fi fans then Madrid is a place to consider for your city break during the forthcoming months. Madrid is to host a special exhibition dedicated to the film phenomenon that is Star Wars.
The Star Wars Exhibition opened its doors during November at the Spanish capital’s Arte Canal and all visitors were able to see the show until 15 March.
The Star Wars Exhibition has travelled Europe for just over two years, starting in Lisbon and visiting each city along the way from Porto to Brussels and London before it finally arrived in Madrid.
Some of the most interesting of the individual exhibits includes Darth Vader’s iconic suit, a life size version of Yoda and the popular droids C3PO and R2-D2 .
From the minute visitors walk through the doors of the exhibition they are immediately immersed into a whole world of Star Wars with dedicated planets, individual zones and alien landscape projections. Famous planets from the film such as Coruscant, Utapau, Kashyyyk and Mustafar all feature.
Visit the projection room to see a documentary which explores the art of amazing visual effects and how it has progressed in 30 years.
