‘Strong year ahead’ - Turkey

Turkey’s national tourist board has provided holiday makers a full itinerary of the developments within the country during 2009 as they look forward to another predicted strong year for holidays and tourism.
Turkey is the place to be in 2009 for all film fans because it will be holding a large amount of musical festivals including Resfest, Ankara International Film Festival both these festivals will be held in March 2009.
Izmir and Istanbul will be hosting more film festivals n April, which will mean there will be a choice of films available to see which will be from Turkey and also worldwide locations.
Antalya, is to host Sunsplash in May 2009, an event which will last a week and will see top DJ’s and music artists including: Gilles Peterson, Jamie Lidell and Norman Jay.
Later in 2009 a large number of hotels in Turkey are to be opened which includes the Sheraton Hotel, in Istanbul, Antalya’s Mardan Palace and the Hilton golf and spa resort in Dalaman.
More improvements to Turkey’s travel and facilities for tourists are planned to take place at Istanbul Ataturk airport.
The tourist board for Turkey say their country has now overtaken Spain for the UK’s most popular holiday destination.
