Stockholm is somewhere I have always wanted to visit. It seems to be a cross between New York, Prague and London, with hints of almost every country around the world. The more research I do, the more I want to go. The city itself is a group of 14 islands which are connected by 57 bridges. Stockholm is a hub of culture and architecture with gorgeous natural scenery cropping up all over the city, giving a stark comparison between the complicated and striking architecture and the traditional grand Scandinavian countryside. The close proximity to the water makes the city even more magical. The top tourist attractions would be the Royal Palace and the Vasa Museum which are incredibly majestic, and the old town of Gamla Stan which is one of the most brilliantly conserved medieval city centres in the world. Gamla Stan has a rich heritage and an abundance of cafe’s, shops, attractions and splendid sights all jumbled up together. The streets are mostly cobbled, the buildings a rich variety of colours and the whole place gives off its own unique feel and character. The city is famous for its handicraft skills and creativity and may well turn into the new place to shop due to the up and coming designers who are becoming increasingly popular. Definitely one for the list.
