Tampa Florida sees new Crowne Plaza hotel to open

Visitors could soon be given a new accommodation option when the Crown Plaza Tampa Westshore hotel opens in the popular holiday resort of Tampa in Florida.

Crowne Plaza is a brand owned by the InterContinental Hotels Group and they organisation have just announced that they will be opening their new plush hotel in early March after an extensive multi-million dollar change to both the interior and exterior.

The hotel will be located just under than two miles from Florida’s Tampa airport and overlooks the Westshore business district, the Crowne Plaza is expected to be very popular with corporate travellers.

Other attractions close to the hotel are the Busch Gardens amusement park, the Raymond James stadium, Adventure Island and the Port of Tampa at Channelside.

Vice president Gina LaBarre, for Crowne Plaza Hotels in the United States said:

‘We’re pleased to bring our second Crowne Plaza to the Tampa area, especially in such a convenient location for business travellers. There are several major employers in the area that will benefit from the meetings-savvy products and services that only a Crowne Plaza can provide.’

A new Crowne Plaza has also just been opened by New Orleans airport after a $28m (£19.7 million) renovation from an original Holiday Inn property.
