The tourist board of NY City and Google form partnership
Both internet giant Google and the tourist board in New York City have formed a new alliance in order to provide better sight-seeing and holiday information in the city.
The New York tourist centre is to be built between 52nd and 53rd Street on 810 Seventh Avenue and will play a huge part in the large number of new developments planned for tourists.
Holiday makers visiting New York have a choice of using very detailed satellite views of the city through interactive maps set into tables powered by Google Earth. The ease of seeing satellite views of the city means that visitors can review their itinerary and make time saving decisions on their sit seeing tours which in turn means that they get the most out of their visit to the city. The information can be transferred onto a mobile device or is available to download for emailing so you can have it with you during your trip.
On the wall of the new tourist centre will be a huge video showing a 3D image of New York which is also supported by Google.
Michael Bloomberg mayor of the city wrote an article on Google’s site which stated that their new partnership would
‘make it easier for both visitors and residents to explore all the energy, excitement and diversity of New York City’s five boroughs’.
