The Cape Coast in Ghana is the capital of the Central Region of Ghana. When looking at things to do when visiting the Cape Coast, there is a number of things which catch your eye. First of all is the Cape Coast castle which I have heard about many times before. The castle is listed as a World Heritage site. It was built for the purpose of trade in timber and gold. It was also used in the trans-atlantic slave trade. It attracts many visitors for this reason. Many people say chains and blood is still on the walls to this day, making for an eye opening experience.

The city has a number of other attractions such as the beach itself as well as the Fort William lighthouse. 30km away you can also visit one Ghana’s national parks. Kakum National Park is well known for its rare animals and canopy walkways. Making for a rather colourful but dangerous experience.
