Thomsonfly & First Choice Merge - is that good for city breaks?

Yes that’s right, parent company TUI announced earlier this month that from May 2009, Thomsonfly and First Choice airlines will merge under the brand name Thomson Airways.

Both airlines are low-cost carriers and fly to many cities, great for city break lovers.  It has been confirmed that the new airline will continue to fly to all the same destinations that each airline does now, and Thomsonfly are even adding the Israeli city Tel Aviv this winter (haven’t been there, hadn’t considered it but I may do now because apparently it’s been growing in popularity as a city break hence the addition).  There has been no mention of price changes that I’ve seen yet so I’ll be watching this one carefully.
