The stately rooms and historic conservatoire with luxurious décor and stunningly formal gardens that would rival Versailles. Children would benefit from a visit to the oldest zoo in the world with a historic performance at the marionette puppet theatre.

Spanish Riding School
It doesn’t matter if you are a horse lover or not because this riding school really is an absolutely magical experience for everyone and definitely an activity that is worth doing on a Vienna city break. The beautifully majestic Lipizzaner horses at the School mesmerize the audience with their graceful movements gliding together in unison to Belgian music. Tickets are like gold dust, however, morning practice sessions can be a rewarding experience and easily accessible to anyone.

Prater Park
Another excellent day out for the family it is dominated by the hundred year old wooden ferris wheel which was immortalised in the film classic ‘The Third Man.’ With rollercoaster’s and the quaintest fun fair rides for younger children it also boasts an extensive woodland area for walking trails and great family picnic areas.
