Valencia - A Spanish Delight

Valencia is the third largest city in Spain and is also the capital of Valencia, an autonomous community in Spain and is located between Barcelona and Madrid.  As you’d expect, its climate is warm and dry with mild humid winters.

If it’s your first time in Valencia, then the open top bus tour is a great way to get your bearings.

A great place to visit is the Oceanografic centre, with plenty of ocean life to see, including dolphins, penguins, walruses and whales but be warned, it’s quite spread out so take your comfy shoes as you’ll be walking a good distance if you want to see everything.  Great value for money though

Valencia is well known for its crafts history, including pottery making, woodcraft, glasswares and fibrecraft.  Many of the smaller local shops have great examples of craftmaking, which make fabulous unique souvenirs to take home for friends and family.  They’re better than the usual ‘My friend went to Valencia and all I got was this lousy t-shirt’ gifts!

For food, you have to sample to sweetmeats and bakery products and they pride themselves on their rice dishes such as Valencian Paella.
