Vietnam attracting tourists

Vietnam has a target of attracting five million visitors per year and is heading towards that target with increasing speed according to recent figures released earlier this month.

They have attracted 2.6 million visitors so far this year according to the General Office Statistics so not far to go.

Apparently, that is a rise of more than 10 per cent compared to last year, not bad!

Next year, they host the Tourism Forum, a conference for over 1500 delegates.  That might not sound too much but last year the event was hosted by Thailand and they estimate it attracted more than 60 million visitors to the country.  I’d say that probably means they’ll hit their target next year.  I’ve never been and it’s not high on my list yet, so I’ll wait to hear what they have to offer.
