Virgin Atlantic Airlines drop their premium fares
Virgin Atlantic has recently reduced the fares for premium services say recent reports. The move has come off the back of a strategic plan by the airline to secure the loyalty of its higher paying premium rate customers.
The airlines premium tickets could see price drops of up to 40% in order for Virgin Airlines to stay competitive with rivals such as British Airways.
Return flights take New York, flying business class are anticipated to reduce to £1,099 and flights to Boston are due to be published from £1,199, representing a huge 38% cut.
British Airways have also said they are going to be reducing their prices in the same way, which is an about turn following their firm comments in the past about never reducing the prices for tickets on their premium services.
B.A. have also just experienced a 12% reduction in the normal premium rate passenger numbers so the airline is hoping that reducing the prices will encourage customers back.
Some of the top 10 cities for long flight services for British Airways in 2009 has been announced by the airline as being; San Francisco, New York, Cape Town, Dubai and Johannesburg.
