The new guide for San Francisco for autumn 2008 has been published with plenty of information for holidaymakers.

Highlights include the new California Academy of Sciences where you can visit the aquarium, planetarium, museum and educational facilities all under one roof.

There is also the introduction of the 74X-CultureBus this month which runs from downtown San Francisco to the Academy in Golden Gate Park, stopping at different cultural institutions on the way.

It is also the 75th anniversary of Coit Tower, which is an art-deco monument at the top of Telegraph Hill.

The best time, so I’m told, to have a city break to San Francisco is the festive period from November to January.  The path of gold lights will be lit on the 18th November this year and the lighting ceremony is to be held at the front of the Westfield San Francisco Centre.
