Youth Sector Growing
May
23rd
The UN World Tourism Organisation released the results of their research, conducted over the last five years, showing that the youth sector is significantly growing. Their average spend per trip has increased by over 40% in that time period up to around a £1500 spend per trip in 2007.
They travel more for a purpose, such as learning a language, volunteering or studying and the top destinations are USA, Australia and France.
Apparently, not only is travelling fun and educational for young people but it has other added benefits. The study showed that around eight percent of young people who had travelled were more understanding, tolerant and respectful of other cultures and the way people live.
I cannot help but agree.
